Study women's clothing history through photographs, primary source materials, original garment & their  construction and authentic sewing texhniques.  Observe textiles, color and design of the garments of the Era.

TWO DAY WORKSHOP

This workshop is designed more specifically for learning design and construction of a particular item of women's clothing or accessory/  This can be one of the many numerous items found in a ladies wardrobe.

The weekend can begin on Friday evening, if you wish, for a time for all to get acquainted; but the main workshop will begin on Saturday morning with an all day session of detailed learning of design and construction techniques.

Some of the possible topics of this weekend workshop could be:

*BODICE FITTING AND PATTERN MAKING

*BASICE CONSTRUCTION OF A BODICE

*PUTTING THE PIECES TOGETHER:
setting sleeves,cuffs,piping,gauging,pleating,hemlines

*BONNET MAKING
covering a silk bonnet
and laying on the trim

*THE STUDY AND CONSTRUCTION OF OUTER GARMENTS

*HEADPIECES AND CAPS

*COLLARS,CUFFS, SLEEVES, & WAIST TREATMENT

The average cost of this workshop is $50 per person, with a base of 10 attendees
plus travel expense
